Samir Patil and Vrajavihari Sharan, Vrindavan 2014.10.12 (VT). The 171th Nimbarka Acharya-Vrinda Jayanti Mahotsava celebration shall commence from Karttik Krishna Panchami, Monday October 13, 2014 at the historic Nimbarka Kot temple in Chipi Gali in Vrindavan. This Mahotsava is one of the oldest continuing celebrations in Vrindavan. It is an event where devotees can see the whole traditional Rasa Sadhana worship in pristine form.
Nimbarka Kot Sevayat Acharya Vrindavan Bihari ji says that Karttik month is dedicated to the worship of Bhagwan Vishnu and thus it has a special significance for Vaishnavas. For the Nimbarka Sampradaya this month has still greater importance since along with Jayanti Utsavas of Bhagwana Hamsa, Adhyacharya Sanakadikas (the four Kumaras), Sampradaaya-acharya Nimbarka (on the Purnima) and Pravartaka-acharya Harivyas Devacharya, the Jayanti Utsavas or appearance day festivals of many others like Swayambhu Rama Devacharya, Bal Govinda Dasji Maharaj are also celebrated during this period.
The Mahotsava shall start on Panchami with Bhagavata Saptah Parayana and Samaj Gayan session in evening. The detailed program of Mahotsava is given here:

For any Vaishnava and lover of Braja who is interested in understanding the Braja culture, this celebration is a must. The temple sevayats are trying hard to maintain the tradition with great dedication and affection.
The following recording was made of Samaj Gayan at Nimbark Kot on the appearance day of Nimbarkacharya, Shri Nimbark Jayanti, on Nov. 28, 2012.
Shri Nimbark Jayanti is celebrated in the traditional manner in Shridham Vrindavan, with Samaaj Gaayan (an ancient style of singing Vaishnava Hymns), Abhishek and Archana of Bhagavan Shri Nimbarkacharya and Bhandaara at Shri Nimbark Kot, which organizes this festival in a grand style annually. Shri Vrindavan Vihari Das Ji is the head of Nimbark Kot, and does a wonderful job.
Many Mahants of the Nimbark Sampradaya in Vrindavan were joined as usual by Mahants of the other various traditions: Haridasi, Radha Vallabhi, Ramanandi, Ramanuji, and Pushti Maarg. The Tatiya Sthaan Mahant Ji Maharaj even joined in the Samaj with his very talented Mukhiya Ji from Tatiya Sthan.
The Samaaj Gaayan was led by Mukhiya Ji Santi Shri Roop Kishor Das Ji Maharaj, who is the Mahant of Shri Chain Bihari Kunj near Vamshivat in Vrindavan. He was joined by Mukhiya Shri Rasik Das ji of Nikunj Vatika, Vrindavan and many other Sants such as Shri Kishori Sharan ji, Shri Jaykishor Sharan, etc.
Pakhawaj was played by Shri Krishna Gopal Sharma Ji and also Shri Radharaman Sharan ji.
The Pada – Nimbarka Kaho Re, which was composed in the 17th Century by Swami Shri Govind Sharan Devacharya Ji Maharaj, is here sung in 12-beat vilambit, madhyam and drut, in the traditional style of Samaaj Gaayan from which the Dhrupada genre gained fame under the students of Swami Shri Haridas Ji Maharaj.
