'Morning and evening prayers and arati: this is the Smaranam form of Bhakti, but what is this exactly?

The mind can stretch in any direction. Wherever we put our attention and focus, it will reflect through our minds, but the prayers and arati are about focusing the mind on God: expressing gratitude, love, and joy for being blessed to have Giridhari in our lives. Actually, it is expressing the joy of realising that He is the One who calls us to join Him. For what else do we need our mind, then?

SMARANAM prayers are not just about reciting and singing. It is being fully involved with Love, awareness and gratitude and being in a celebrating mood, as what can be more important for a devotee than being in the presence and Love of one's Beloved Lord? Smaranam is not just praying, nor are the prayers just smaranam, but in fact they are one, since the more we remember Giridhari and His Love, the more the joy He gives us will bring us closer to Him, and the more the prayers become alive and real, expressing the bliss of the soul.'
