Swami Mukundananda explains the one habit that ruins our self-development journey. If we are not careful, we would be vulnerable to it as well.
What is that one habit that ruins our progress in the self-development journey? It is bad association or 'kusang'. Our mind naturally gravitates towards worldly pleasures because of its materially bound nature. However, if we don't use the power of discrimination of our intellect to eliminate bad associations, we will continue to face setbacks in our spiritual progress.
'Kusang' or bad association is any activity we indulge that takes our mind to the world. Some examples are like hanging around with friends circle who chase worldly pleasures and thereby wasting time and money, reluctance to hear from saints, and follow scriptures that help us grow spiritually. We are what our associations are. Therefore to, transform our lives, we need to avoid bad associations entirely and be in the company of like-minded people who help our spiritual progress.
