Swami Mukundananda explains the three reasons why we are not happy always. The true definition of happiness is - it should be ever fresh, ever-increasing, and infinite in extent. However, the happiness we get in this world is ever decreasing - you have a cup of ice cream, it gives you happiness the first time, you have one more, the happiness decreases a bit and after a while and so on. Finite and not fresh - you have a wonderful time on a weekend outing, and the next day you come home and feel bored. So how to attain that eternal happiness, which is every fresh, infinite and ever-increasing, that happiness which will satiate your soul?
